Safe Routes to School

“Safe Routes to School” (SRTS) refers to efforts that improve, educate, or encourage children safely walking (by foot or mobility device) or biking to school. The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) has two main types of SRTS programs: infrastructure and non-infrastructure grants.  ODOT hired Cogito to lead the Rule Making Advisory Committee to update the Oregon Revised Statues for new funding made possible by House Bill 2017, the historic transportation funding package.   Cogito has been instrumental in establishing a solid base for ODOT’s new infrastructure program and helped shape the recently formed Advisory Committee.  Work continues as Cogito facilitates the upcoming funding process for Oregon’s SRTS infrastructure and non-infrastructure programs.
